Cranberry and Blueberry Growers Conference
On March 4, 2016, the annual conference of cranberry and blueberry growers took place at the Institute of Biology of the University of Latvia in Salaspils, organized by the Latvian Fruit Growers' Association in cooperation with the Plant Mineral Nutrition Laboratory of the University of Latvia. The conference focused on: opportunities and challenges for the sale of cranberries and blueberries (Māra Rudzāte, LAA, SIA “Arosa-R”); mineral nutrition status of blueberries and large American cranberries in 2014 and 2015 (Anita Osvalde, LUBI); the effect of nitrogen on the yield and berry quality of the blueberry cultivar ‘Chippewa’ (Jana Apše, LLU); characteristics of blueberry and large cranberry varieties (Dace Šterna, LLU); situation in the market of large cranberries (Gundega Sauškina, SIA “Very berry”); CO2 and horticultural potential (Andris Špats, z / s “Gundegas”).
